Bhopal: Senior Congress leader, former minister and Madhya Pradesh Congress media in-charge Dr Mukesh Nayak has withdrawn his resignation following the intervention of senior party leaders at both the central and state levels. Party sources said that sustained efforts by several senior leaders helped resolve the issue amicably.
According to sources, a large number of senior Congress leaders contacted Dr Nayak over the past two days and urged him to reconsider his decision in the larger interest of the party. On Saturday and Sunday, several senior leaders of the state Congress personally visited Dr Nayak’s residence and held discussions with him, eventually persuading him to take back his resignation.
Dr Nayak reached the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) office on Monday morning. Speaking to journalists, he reiterated that his remarks during the recent party meeting were made in a constructive spirit. He said he had only emphasised that the time had come for senior leaders to create space and opportunities for the younger generation to take on greater responsibilities within the organisation.
In an exclusive interaction with this Correspondent, Dr Mukesh Nayak expressed full confidence in the present leadership of the state unit. “We have strong and visionary leadership in the form of Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jeetu Patwari. We are firmly committed to moving forward with him on this challenging journey with complete loyalty and dedication,” he said.
Party leaders described the development as a positive sign for organisational unity, stating that internal differences had been addressed through dialogue. The Congress leadership believes that the resolution will strengthen the party ahead of its future political challenges in the state.
