Rajnath Singh, BJP leaders to pay floral tributes to Arun Jaitley on 73rd birth anniversary in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 28 (UNI) Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, along with Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and several senior party leaders, will pay floral tributes to Padma Vibhushan awardee and former union Minister Arun Jaitley on his 73rd birth anniversary.

The tribute ceremony will be held at Arun Jaitley Park on Siri Fort Road in the national capital.

Senior BJP leaders and workers are expected to gather to remember Jaitley, who played a key role in shaping India’s political, legal and economic landscape. Known for his sharp legal mind and powerful oratory, Jaitley served the country in several important capacities, including as Finance Minister and Defence Minister.

Leaders across the BJP paid tributes to him on social media. union Home Minister Amit Shah remembered Jaitley as a “peerless constitutional and legal expert and an orator par excellence,” saying his legacy as a parliamentarian and his contribution to landmark legal issues would be remembered for generations.

Shah added that Jaitley’s role in strengthening the party with his legal acumen would continue to stand the test of time.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said Jaitley’s mentorship and encouragement had a deep impact on his public life. He noted that India continues to benefit from Jaitley’s far-reaching contributions that helped strengthen the country’s political and economic foundations.

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy recalled Jaitley as a stalwart leader and eminent lawyer, highlighting that the reforms initiated during his tenure as Finance Minister have left a lasting legacy for India’s economic growth and nation-building.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma described Jaitley as a visionary leader and an exceptional parliamentarian whose contributions continue to inspire people across the country. He said Jaitley’s life and work remain a beacon of integrity, intellect and public service.

Arun Jaitley, a senior BJP leader and one of the party’s key strategists, passed away in August 2019. He is remembered as one of the most influential leaders of his generation, whose work left a lasting imprint on India’s governance and public policy.
