New Delhi, December 26 (UNI) President Droupadi Murmu on Friday said winners of Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar have brought pride to their families, communities, and the entire country, adding that these awards will inspire all children across the country.
She conferred the awards on 20 children from 18 states and union territories for their exceptional achievements in the fields of Bravery, Social Service, Environment, Sports, Art and Culture and Science & Technology at a ceremony held in the national capital.
Speaking on the occasion, the President congratulated the recipients of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar. “I extend my blessings to all the children. These young achievers have brought pride to their families and communities. I also congratulate their parents and family members for their support,” she said.
The President also paid an ode to the tenth Sikh guru Gobind Singh Ji and his four sons made supreme sacrifices for righteousness and faith nearly 320 years ago.
“Do you know why we celebrate Veer Bal Diwas? There is a long and inspiring history behind it,” she said.
“On this day, we especially remember his two younger sons, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh. Their courage continues to inspire generations, and their names are remembered with great respect in India and across the world. I offer my respectful homage to the Sahibzades. Veer Bal Diwas is a day of remembrance and a celebration of patriotism, bravery, and national unity,” the President said.
The President said the greatness of a country is certain when its children are filled with patriotism and high ideals. “By presenting this award today, you have been encouraged. This recognition will inspire children across the nation to strive for excellence,” she added.
“I have interacted with these children and found them extremely talented. Some of the award recipients are as young as 7-year-old,” she said.
The President said it is because of talented children such as Vaka Lakshmi Pragnika (7) that India is considered a chess powerhouse on the world stage.
“Ajay Raj and Mohammed Sidan P, who saved the lives of others with their bravery and intelligence, deserve all the praise they receive. Nine-year-old daughter Vyoma Priya and eleven-year-old brave son Kamlesh Kumar lost their lives while saving the lives of others with their courage. Ten-year-old Shvan Singh, amidst the risks associated with war during Operation Sindoor, regularly delivered water, milk, and lassi to the Indian soldiers stationed at the border near his home,” the president said.
She also spoke about the differently-abled Shivani Hosuru Uppara who has achieved extraordinary accomplishments in the world of sports, overcoming economic and physical limitations, and Vaibhav Suryavanshi has made a name for himself in the highly competitive and talent-filled world of cricket and has set many records.
She expressed confidence that brave and talented children like them will continue to do good work and make India’s future bright.
