Bhopal: In keeping with the highest values and ideals laid down by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Good Governance Day was observed at the Police Headquarters on Wednesday, a day ahead of his birth anniversary on December 25.
The programme was organised to reaffirm the principles of transparent, accountable and people-centric administration envisioned by Vajpayee. On the occasion, Director General of Police Kailash Makwana administered the Good Governance Day pledge to all officers and staff of the Police Headquarters.
Taking the oath collectively, the personnel resolved to uphold high standards of good governance in the state and to work towards making the system more transparent, participatory, welfare-oriented and accountable. The pledge emphasised commitment to efficient public service delivery, ethical conduct and responsiveness to citizens’ needs.
Senior police officers and employees participated in the event, underscoring the department’s resolve to strengthen institutional integrity and improve governance practices in line with democratic values. The observance of Good Governance Day served as a reminder of the legacy of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and his emphasis on principled leadership and effective administration in public life.
