New Delhi, Dec 24 (UNI): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday visited Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital in Dilshad Garden and inspected various departments of the hospital.
She reviewed the medical arrangements, facilities available to patients, and the administrative systems in place. During the visit, the Chief Minister interacted with patients and also held discussions with doctors, nursing staff and other healthcare personnel.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to ensure timely treatment, uninterrupted availability of medicines, and sensitive behaviour towards patients.
She stated that the Delhi government is committed to providing quality, accessible, and humane healthcare services to every citizen of the capital. Cleanliness in the hospital premises, functionality of medical equipment, and overall patient convenience were also reviewed, and necessary instructions were issued for further improvement.
The Chief Minister interacted with women patients and enquired about the treatment and services being provided at the hospital. She gave instructions to doctors and healthcare personnel to ensure sensitive, dignified, and courteous behaviour with patients at every level.
She emphasised that senior citizens and women must be provided special assistance, priority, and additional care during treatment so that they do not face any inconvenience.
Interacting with women patients, the Chief Minister sought feedback on the treatment and services being provided to them. She instructed doctors and healthcare workers to maintain sensitive, dignified, and courteous conduct at all levels.
She further directed that facilitative mechanisms be put in place at every stage, from registration and diagnostics to treatment and the availability of medicines, as well as in wards and ICUs for elderly persons and women. The Chief Minister said that healthcare should extend beyond medical treatment to instil a sense of safety, trust, and compassion among patients.
Following the hospital inspection, the CM participated in a special programme organised by ‘Maa Shakti Sanstha’ for Divyangjan, held to commemorate the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. She presented the ‘Divya Atal Awards’ to Divyangjan in recognition of their resilience and achievements.
