Traffic advisory issued in Delhi in view of Christmas celebrations: Police

New Delhi, 24 Dec (UNI): Amid the Christmas celebrations, the Delhi Police on Wednesday issued an advisory for December 24 and 25, an officer said.

According to the advisory, the Delhi Traffic Police has alerted the public about traffic diversions and restrictions in parts of South Delhi, especially in the Saket area.

The advisory states that traffic diversions will be enforced near select City Walk Mall, DLF Avenue Mall, and MGF Metropolitan Court Mall in Saket due to an anticipated surge in visitors. The special traffic measures will begin at 2 PM on both days.

Police said that Press Enclave Road and several internal roads in Saket and Pushp Vihar will be impacted due to the restrictions.

To manage traffic congestion, diversions will be implemented at major junctions, including the Sheikh Sarai red light on Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, the Asian Market red light on Mehrauli-Badarpur (MB) Road, and the PTS Malviya Nagar red light on Sri Aurobindo Marg.

As part of the traffic arrangements, all median cuts between Sheikh Sarai and Hauz Rani will remain closed during the restricted hours.

Heavy vehicles, along with DTC and cluster buses, will be prohibited from using both carriageways of Press Enclave Road. The advisory further stated that DTC and cluster buses will also not be allowed to move towards Pushp Vihar from MB Road via the Asian Market Red Light.

Sharing a post on X, Delhi traffic police stated, “In view of Christmas Day celebrations at select City Mall, DLF Avenue Mall & MGF Metropolitan Court Mall, traffic movement in the Saket area, South Delhi, will remain regulated on 24.12.2025 & 25.12.2025 from 02:00 PM onwards.”

The traffic police also recommended alternative routes to minimise inconvenience. Commuters travelling from Chirag Delhi towards Qutub Minar have been advised to use the route via Khanpur T-Point, MB Road, and Lado Sarai T-Point.

Commuters travelling from the IIT Flyover towards Sangam Vihar or Sainik Farm have been advised to take the route via the TB Hospital red light, Lado Sarai red light, MB Road, Chirag Delhi, and Khanpur red light.
