Anita Sharma appointed Coordinator for Meat-Free and Dowry-Free Campaign

Bhopal: In a significant move to broaden the reach of its social reform initiatives, the Kayastha Bandhu Samiti has appointed Mrs. Anita Rajendra Sharma from the Audichya Brahmin community as the coordinator for its “Meat-Free and Dowry-Free” mega-campaign. Mrs. Sharma, a resident of Om Nagar, Lalghati, was formally inducted into her role on Monday by campaign head Girish Srivastava, who presented her with a symbolic yellow scarf and an official appointment letter.

The campaign, which has already seen considerable success within the Kayastha community, is set to expand its footprint across all sections of Hindu society starting in the New Year. By bringing in leaders from different backgrounds, the Samiti aims to eliminate the financial burden of dowry and promote vegetarianism as a collective social value. Mrs. Sharma, who has supported the cause for over a year, emphasized that these reforms are a necessity for every community to ensure a better future for the next generation.

Plans are currently underway to extend this movement to other districts of Madhya Pradesh throughout 2026, focusing specifically on empowering women to lead the change. The appointment ceremony saw participation from local social workers, including Alpana Saxena and Narendra Saxena, who lauded the initiative for fostering inter-community harmony and progressive values.
