Bhopal: A momentary lapse during a playful afternoon turned into a fatal tragedy as a young woman patwari passed away following a horrific accident in the Kamala Nagar area. Meenakshi Chauhan Gautam, who served as a patwari in Goharganj, Raisen district, succumbed to her injuries in the hospital after battling for her life for several days.
The incident occurred on December 11 while Meenakshi was playing on the roof with her two-year-old daughter. In a selfless maternal instinct, she reportedly sprinted across the terrace to catch a balloon that was drifting away for her child. During the chase, she lost her balance and fell from the height, sustaining critical injuries. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital and receiving immediate medical attention, she eventually breathed her last.
Meenakshi was the wife of an Army Major, and her untimely demise has left the local community and her colleagues in deep mourning. The Kamala Nagar police have registered a case and are currently investigating the circumstances of the fall. The tragic loss has left a toddler without her mother, serving as a grim reminder of how a fleeting second can change a family’s destiny forever.
