Rewa-Mumbai Special Express to run via Itarsi to clear holiday rush

Bhopal: In a move to accommodate the surge in passenger demand, the Bhopal Division has announced the operation of special trains between Rewa and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) via Itarsi. This special service will run for two trips in each direction, providing much-needed relief to travelers heading towards Mumbai during the New Year period.
Train No. 02187 will depart from Rewa on Thursdays, January 1 and January 8, 2026, at 3:50 PM. It is scheduled to arrive at Itarsi by 11:20 PM and reach Mumbai’s CSMT the following day at 12:20 PM. For the return journey, Train No. 02188 will leave Mumbai on Fridays, January 2 and January 9, 2026, at 1:30 PM, reaching Itarsi at 1:15 AM the next morning and concluding its journey in Rewa at 9:45 AM.
The 24-coach train features a comprehensive composition including AC First Class, AC Two-Tier, AC Three-Tier, Sleeper, and General Second Class coaches. Major halts include Satna, Maihar, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Pipariya, Khandwa, and Bhusaval. Passengers are encouraged to check the official NTES app or the Indian Railways website for detailed schedules and booking information.
