BJP slams AAP’s sarcasm on Delhi pollution

New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI): Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva on Sunday strongly criticised Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bhardwaj for making sarcastic remarks on the serious issue of air pollution, accusing him of trivialising a grave public health concern by invoking references to fictional characters such as Superman, Spiderman, Batman and Santa Claus.
Sachdeva said the severe pollution being faced by Delhi residents today is a direct consequence of the negligence of AAP-led governments in both Delhi and Punjab
”It is unfortunate that when Arvind Kejriwal and Saurabh Bhardwaj were in power, their government failed to control the factors causing pollution, and now that they are in the opposition, they are making frivolous and ridiculous remarks,” he said
Sachdeva further said that when Saurabh Bhardwaj was the Health Minister in the Kejriwal government, his government played with the health of the people.
”No work was done on pollution control over ten years. During his tenure as Health Minister, cases of distribution of fake medicines in Delhi government hospitals came to light, and Mohalla Clinics turned into centres of scams,” he alleged
The Delhi BJP President said it is regrettable that when they were in power, governments failed to manage the causes of pollution, and now that they are in the opposition, they are making laughable statements.
Sachdeva said that by not working while in power and now making frivolous remarks on pollution, both Kejriwal and Bhardwaj are losing their image among the public.
He urged Kejriwal and Bhardwaj to act with seriousness and responsibility, stating that instead of indulging in sarcastic theatrics over pollution, they should allow the people of Delhi and the government to focus collectively on meaningful efforts to prevent and control air pollution.
