SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav appeals for save Aravalli, save Delhi’s future

New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI) Samajwadi party chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has launched a passionate appeal to Delhi residents to join the “Save Aravalli” campaign, warning that the destruction of the Aravalli range will have catastrophic consequences for the city’s environment, economy, and quality of life.
“The Aravalli range is Delhi’s natural security shield, its ecological lifeline,” Yadav said. “If we don’t save Aravalli, Delhi will become a living hell, with unbreathable air, undrinkable water, and unbearable temperatures.”
Yadav highlighted the devastating impact of pollution on Delhi’s residents, particularly the vulnerable, including children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing medical conditions. He warned that the city’s reputation as a hub for medical tourism, commerce, and culture will be irreparably damaged if the Aravalli range is not protected.
“The BJP’s reckless policies will turn Delhi into a pollution hotspot, driving away tourists, businesses, and investments,” Yadav alleged. “We must unite to save Aravalli and reject the BJP’s dirty politics.”
Yadav’s appeal comes amid concerns over the Aravalli range’s rapid degradation due to mining and construction activities.
The range, which spans across Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan, is crucial for maintaining the region’s ecological balance and biodiversity.
The “Save Aravalli” campaign has garnered support from various quarters, including environmental activists, business leaders, and civil society organisations.
