Indian Coast Guard commissions new Fast Patrol Vessel ‘ICGS Amulya’ in Goa

New Delhi. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has commissioned ICGS Amulya, the third Fast Patrol Vessel of the new-generation Adamya class, at Goa. The ceremony was graced by Shri Amitabh Prasad, Joint Secretary (IC/AP), Ministry of Defence, in the presence of Inspector General Jyotindra Singh, senior Central and State Government officials, and representatives of Goa Shipyard Limited.

Designed and built indigenously by Goa Shipyard Limited, the 51-metre vessel incorporates over 60 per cent indigenous components, reflecting India’s growing defence self-reliance under the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives. Powered by twin 3000 KW diesel engines, Amulya can achieve a top speed of 27 knots with an operational endurance of 1,500 nautical miles.

Equipped with a 30 mm CRN-91 gun, two 12.7 mm stabilised remote-controlled guns, and advanced integrated systems, the vessel enhances surveillance and rapid response capabilities. Based at Paradip, Odisha, ICGS Amulya will undertake missions such as maritime surveillance, search and rescue, anti-smuggling operations and pollution response, significantly strengthening security along India’s eastern seaboard.
