Kangra Valley gears up for eight days of culture, music and star performances

Dharamshala, Dec 19 (UNI) Renowned Bollywood, Punjabi and Himachali artists, including Ankit Tiwari, Sufi singer Kanwar Grewal and Babbu Maan, will headline the eight-day Kangra Valley Carnival, scheduled to be held from December 24 to 31.

The carnival will showcase a vibrant blend of culture, sports and digital attractions.

A key highlight of the event will be the participation of more than 1,000 women dressed in traditional Gaddi and Jhamakda attire, who will perform folk dances in Dharamshala between December 29 and 31.

The carnival will feature a wide range of activities, including cultural programmes, a marathon, cricket and football tournaments, a fashion show, drone displays, and events centred on literature and theatre. Fireworks are planned to mark the concluding day on December 31.

In addition to Ankit Tiwari, Kanwar Grewal and Babbu Maan, the lineup includes Kerala’s renowned band, Kuldeep Sharma, Karnail Rana, Sunil Rana, the Paradox rap group, Ishant Bhardwaj, and several folk artists. Troupes from the Cultural Centre and the Language & Culture Department will also present performances throughout the event.

Special competitions for youth and persons with disabilities will be organised. Cricket matches will be held at Kangra ground, with the final to be played at the HPCA International Cricket Stadium, Dharamshala, officials said.
