Bhopal: Dr Raghvendra Kumar Vidua, Professor in the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at AIIMS Bhopal, has been conferred the prestigious Dr Andre Best Faculty Presentation Award at the 21st National Conference of the Indian Society of Toxicology (TOXOCON-21), held at King George’s Medical University, Lucknow.

The award was presented by Prof V. V. Pillai, Founder President of the Indian Society of Toxicology, along with a citation and cash prize. Dr Vidua received the honour for his research paper examining the adverse effects of tobacco on semen quality and its role in male infertility.

This pioneering research offers strong evidence of tobacco’s harmful impact on male reproductive health and is part of Dr Vidua’s ICMR-funded work on postmortem sperm retrieval. Conducted in collaboration with AIIMS Bhopal colleagues, Dr Vidua dedicated the award to the institute’s supportive research environment under Executive Director Prof Madhabananda Kar.
