Mumbai crime branch police seizE MD drugs valued Rs 115 crore; seven persons arrested

Satara, Dec 14 (UNI) Mumbai Crime Branch (MCB) police team seized MD drugs and raw materials with an estimated value of Rs 115 crores and arrested seven persons during a two-day raid at a drug manufacturing factory that ended on Saturday.
Acting on an intelligence report that the drugs were being produced in Savari village of Satara district, MCB police team raided the area on Saturday. The raids stretched to Sunday and the police finally were able to dismantle the illegal Mephedrone (MD) manufacturing unit and seized drugs and their raw materials including 7.5 kg of solid Mephedrone (MD), 38 kg of liquid Mephedrone and a large quantity of chemicals and equipment used in the manufacturing process, with an estimated value of Rs 115 crore.
MCB police team have arrested =seven persons so far in this connection including three individuals apprehended at the factory site during the raid.
The operation was the culmination of an investigation that began with the arrest of two drug peddlers in Mumbai in October 2025, which led the authorities to the Satara factory.
The drug bust has also sparked a political controversy in Maharashtra, with the Congress party alleging a potential cover-up by the state government. UNI SSS SSP
