As part of the Madhya Pradesh Utsav held at Madhya Pradesh Bhawan, New Delhi, from December 12 to 14, 2025, Gandharv Band presented an unforgettable musical evening on Saturday, December 13. The festival showcased the rich cultural traditions of Madhya Pradesh.
The 3-day festival was organised by Madhya Pradesh Bhawan, New Delhi, in collaboration with the Directorate of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh. With free entry for all visitors, the event drew a large number of art and culture enthusiasts.
In this cultural continuum, Gandharv Band stood out with its distinctive fusion style, seamlessly blending Indian classical gharanas, folk melodies, tribal sounds and Western musical elements. The performance conveyed a powerful message—that music transcends boundaries and has the ability to unite people through a shared cultural consciousness.
During the concert, the band presented stirring renditions of Vande Mataram, Mharo Madhya Pradesh and Mera Bharat Mahan, filling the auditorium with a deep sense of patriotism and cultural pride. The emotional high point of the evening came with Mera Bharat Mahan, a composition written by the husband-wife creative duo Rajshri Shastri and Lalit Shastri. As the song reached its finale, the audience spontaneously joined in, and the auditorium resonated with the collective chorus of “Sabse Sundar Apna Jahan, Sabse Sundar Bharat Mahan.”
The performance featured Deep Chaudhary on bass guitar and music arrangement, Ajay Dande (Vicky) on drums, Uday Soni as lead vocalist, Vijay Maithil on chorus vocals, Harsh on guitar, Sparsh Dubey on keyboard, Naveen Dixit on dholak and percussion, and Amit Parsai on flute. Their cohesive musical dialogue, balanced soundscape and expressive execution transformed the evening into a mesmerising, inspiring and deeply memorable experience, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Gandharv Band’s vision is to use pure music as a medium to connect Indians across the country and the global diaspora with their shared cultural and historical legacy. Their performance at the Madhya Pradesh Utsav emerged as a powerful expression of this cultural commitment.
