To win back customers, IndiGo announces Rs 10,000 travel vouchers to affected travelers

New Delhi, Dec 11 (UNI) Hit by adverse publicity following a week of cancelled and delayed flights, IndiGo airlines has come out with an offer of “travel vouchers” to win back its customer base.

The airline company on Thursday announced that it will issue travel voucher of Rs 10,000 to all passengers who booked their flights on December 3, 4 and 5 and were stranded at various airports because of cancellations or delays.

These travel vouchers can be used for any future IndiGo journey for the “next 12 months”, the airline said in a statement.

This compensation, the airline informed, is in addition to the commitment under the existing government guidelines as per which the airline is bound to provide Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 depending on the block time of flight to those customers whose flights were cancelled within 24 hours of departure time.

Meanwhile, the airline company has also informed that it is working diligently to ensure all necessary refunds for cancelled flights have been initiated already.

IndiGo expects to operate over 1,950 scheduled flights on Thursday, signaling a major recovery in schedules and network.

The aviation regulator of the country, DGCA, early this week penalised the airline by cutting 10 per cent of its winter schedule capacity for the large scale disruptions.
