Protest held against laying of Babri Masjid foundation

Bhopal: Hindu organizations are protesting the laying of the foundation stone of the Babri Masjid in West Bengal. In Bhopal, the Shri Hindu Utsav Samiti and the Sanskriti Bachao Manch demonstrated at Stop No. 2. The organization’s president, Chandrashekhar Tiwari, said that if a mosque is to be built, it should be named after Abdul Kalam or Ashfaqullah; a mosque named after Babar will not be tolerated.

The organization’s workers had arrived with a poster of a toilet with Babar’s name on it, which they were planning to put up in the public toilet premises. However, the police confiscated the poster. During this, a scuffle broke out between the police and the organization’s workers. More than 40 Quick Response Force personnel and 25-30 policemen were deployed at the scene.
