BJP govt engaging in politics of emotions and neglecting larger issues: Akhilesh Yadav

Saharanpur, Dec 7 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the BJP alleging that the government is engaging in politics of emotions, while neglecting the interests of farmers, laborers and youth.

He said that acting against the basic spirit of the Constitution is not in the best interest of the country. Only the Constitution given by Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar can guide the country in the right direction.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, Akhilesh Yadav expressed concern over the continuous decline in the value of the Indian rupee, stating that it is rapidly weakening against the dollar. He said, “The rupee has fallen to Rs 90 per dollar. There is a major crisis in the economy, but the BJP government is busy hiding the truth.”

He also criticised the BJP government over the disruption of Indigo Airlines flights and the inconvenience caused to passengers. Akhilesh Yadav said that the government is empowering industrialists to such an extent that they can influence policies and decisions. He also levelled charges against the BJP regarding electoral bonds and said that this is why the government has no control over Indigo.

He questioned the Election Commission over allegations of voter list revisions and deletions. He claimed that two to three crore voters in Uttar Pradesh are at risk of having their names removed from the voter list. He said that everyone has an Aadhaar card, fingerprints, and even retinal scans, yet the process of adding votes is not being simplified using modern technology. He said that the BJP is deliberately harassing the public, just as it did during demonetisation and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Akhilesh Yadav also mentioned the Mahakumbh case and alleged that the government did not present the correct figures. He said that none of the promises made by the BJP have been fulfilled.

He claimed that the public will oust the BJP from power this time and that the upcoming assembly elections will yield historic results.

Thanking the people of Saharanpur, he said that the alliance had received strong support from the region in the Lok Sabha elections and that the people would continue to stand with the Samajwadi Party in the upcoming elections as well.
