New Delhi, Dec 6 (UNI) IndiGo, India’s largest airline, has announced significant progress in restoring its network on Saturday, following recent operational disruptions that forced the carrier to cancel a large number of flights.
On Friday, the airline operated over 700 flights connecting 113 destinations as part of a planned effort to reboot its systems, networks, and rosters.
“We took these measures to start afresh and ensure improved stability,” said an IndiGo spokesperson. “There are already early signs of improvement. Today, we are on track to operate over 1,500 flights by the end of the day.”
The airline reported that more than 95% of its destinations have resumed operations, with flights now operating to 135 out of 138 destinations.
While acknowledging that challenges remain, IndiGo reaffirmed its commitment to rebuilding customer trust.
The spokesperson also expressed gratitude to government agencies, partners, employees, and customers for their patience and support during the disruption.
The airline’s network revival comes at a time when the airline continues to expand rapidly. With a fleet of over 400 aircraft, IndiGo operates approximately 2,300 flights daily, connecting more than 90 domestic and 45 international destinations.
The airline inducted 58 new aircraft in 2024 and served over 118 million passengers in FY25.
IndiGo has built its reputation on affordable fares, punctual flights, and a hassle-free travel experience. Its efforts have been recognized internationally, with the carrier being named the ‘Best Airline in India and South Asia’ by Skytrax at the World Airline Awards 2025.
The airline has pledged to continue stabilizing operations and ensuring a seamless travel experience for its passengers as it works to overcome the recent disruptions.
