Crash landing exposes massive liquor racket in Bhopal

Gandhinagar Police seize car carrying 38 boxes of liquor, driver escaped

Bhopal: An unexpected vehicle accident in the city’s Gandhi Nagar area has exposed a major illegal liquor smuggling operation, highlighting the serious issue of illicit alcohol transport in the capital.

During the incident, police discovered the crashed vehicle was secretly loaded with 38 boxes of illegally transported liquor. Witnesses suggest the driver intentionally swerved and collided with the divider in front of the Gandhi Nagar police station before fleeing the scene, presumably in a panicked attempt to avoid immediate arrest after the crash.

Police immediately confiscated all the liquor boxes and seized the vehicle. This haul comes just one day after the Bairagarh police seized an even larger cache of 70 boxes of country-made liquor from their jurisdiction.

Authorities are now conducting an intensive investigation to trace the supply chain. Officials stated they are working to determine the origin of the massive quantity of alcohol and its intended recipients, aiming to dismantle the network responsible for the illegal transport operations plaguing the city.
