- Massive liquor haul
Bhopal: Bairagarh Police have achieved a significant breakthrough in the crackdown against the illegal sale of liquor, seizing a large consignment worth Rs 2,75,000. The action was taken following directives from Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra to intensify efforts against unauthorized liquor sales and transport in the city.
= Suspect arrested near Railway Station
Acting on a tip-off, a dedicated team led by Bairagarh Station In-Charge Inspector Ashok Kumar Gautam raided a location near the railway station gate. The team apprehended the accused, Amar Thakoriya (32), residing near the CRP Gate Road.
With the consent of the accused, police searched his residence and discovered a massive stockpile of illicit liquor: 60 cartons of plain country liquor and 10 cartons of spiced country liquor, totaling 70 cartons. The entire consignment has been seized, and the accused, Amar Thakoriya, has been booked under Section 34(2) of the Excise Act. Police are continuing their interrogation to uncover the source of the illegal liquor supply chain.
