Historic women’s Congress motor rally reaches Bhopal

Bhopal: In a first-of-its-kind initiative in Madhya Pradesh, the Women’s Congress on Wednesday organised a grand motor rally from Indore to Bhopal, marking a historic moment for the organisation. The rally was led by the All India Mahila Congress President, Alka Lamba, and coincided with the formal assumption of charge by the newly appointed state Women’s Congress President, Reena Baurasi Setia.

At a ceremony held at the Madhya Pradesh Congress headquarters in Bhopal, Setia formally took charge in the presence of MPCC President Jeetu Patwari, Leader of the Opposition Umang Singhar and national Women’s Congress chief Lamba.

A large gathering of senior Congress leaders attended the event, reflecting the significance of the occasion. Among those present were former ministers Jayawardhan Singh, Sajjan Singh Verma, Lakhan Ghanghoria, Mukesh Nayak, Omkar Markam and Sachin Yadav. Also in attendance were organisation in-charge Dr Sanjay Kamle, National President of the Tribal Congress Vikrant Bhuria, MLAs Mahesh Parmar, Sema Patel and Anubha Munjare, MPCC Vice-President Mahendra Joshi, Seva Dal state organiser Avneesh Bhargava, Bhopal District Congress President Praveen Saxena, former state Women’s Congress President Vibha Patel and party spokesperson Noori Khan, along with a large number of Women’s Congress office-bearers and senior leaders.

Patwari said the historic rally would infuse new energy into the organisation and further strengthen women’s leadership in the state. Extending his best wishes to the newly appointed president, he expressed confidence that the Women’s Congress would achieve new heights under her leadership.

Addressing party workers, Setia urged them to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots, from villages to urban wards. She emphasised that the Women’s Congress would emerge as a strong voice for women across Madhya Pradesh in the coming days.

The rally and the charge-taking ceremony created an atmosphere of enthusiasm, unity and renewed organisational vigour, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Women’s Congress in the state.
