Dhurandhar advance sales hit Rs 2.81 crore before release

New Delhi, Dec 2 (UNI) Ranveer Singh’s upcoming action drama Dhurandhar is all set for a grand release this Friday, and early numbers suggest the film could enjoy a strong opening.

Advance bookings, which opened six days ahead of the release, have already generated significant excitement among fans.

According to early estimates from Sacnilk, Dhurandhar has raked in Rs 1.28 crore in all-India advance sales from 27,732 tickets across 2,578 shows. The Hindi 2D version accounts for Rs 1.12 crore from 25,265 tickets, while premium IMAX 2D screenings contributed around Rs 16.20 lakh from 2,467 tickets sold.

When blocked seats are included, the film’s gross advance tally has reached Rs 2.81 crore, signaling a promising opening weekend.

Maharashtra leads the advance-booking chart with Rs 71.38 lakh, followed by Delhi with Rs 64.9 lakh and Karnataka with Rs 25.85 lakh. The numbers indicate strong performance in metropolitan cities, though analysts are watching whether these figures grow in the final days leading up to release.

Trade experts predict the film could open in the Rs 20–25 crore range, with much of the business likely dependent on word of mouth.

The film clocks in at approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, making it one of Bollywood’s longest releases, second only to 2008’s Jodhaa Akbar. Premium formats are commanding high ticket prices, with Mumbai showing the most expensive tickets at Rs 2,020.

Directed as a high-stakes action spectacle “inspired by incredible real events,” Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh as an Indian operative who infiltrates Pakistan to eliminate top-tier threats.

The film also features Arjun Rampal (Major Iqbal), Akshaye Khanna (Rehman Dakait), Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Sara Arjun.

The film has run into legal turbulence. The parents of late Major Mohit Sharma have approached the Delhi High Court seeking a stay, claiming the movie uses real individuals’ likenesses without consent.

The court has asked the CBFC to review the concerns, with the Army’s ADGPI expected to provide input before certification is granted.
