Bhopal: The Bhopal Rail Division has stepped up its enforcement against unauthorized Alarm Chain Pulling (ACP), successfully prosecuting 573 individuals in November 2025 alone. The aggressive drive, overseen by DRM Shri Pankaj Tyagi, aims to curb disruptions that cause significant train delays and compromise passenger safety.
Under Section 141 of the Railways Act, pulling the chain without sufficient cause is a punishable offense, carrying a penalty of up to one year in prison, a fine of up to Rs 1,000, or both.
The division’s sustained crackdown saw 573 cases registered last month, resulting in the collection of Rs 1,03,425 in fines through the courts. Senior DCM Shri Saurabh Katariya emphasized that such misuse directly affects train punctuality, causes inconvenience to other passengers, and leads to economic loss for the railways.
The RPF and Commercial Department are committed to maintaining a secure travel experience and urged all passengers to support these stringent checking drives by refraining from unauthorized ACP.
