- Six cases solved, Rs 20 lakh haul recovered
Bhopal: Ayodhya Nagar Police have successfully busted an inter-state burglary ring, arresting a highly sophisticated thief and solving six separate housebreaking incidents that occurred in the Meenal Residency area in May 2025. The operation led to the recovery of stolen goods worth approximately Rs 20 lakh.
The arrested accused, identified as Vijendra alias Bantu (46) from Jhajjar, Haryana, confessed to the six burglaries. Police recovered about 150 grams of gold jewelry, nearly 1 kg of silver jewelry, and an Activa scooter.
Sophisticated modus operandi
Vijendra is a habitual offender with dozens of theft cases registered against him across multiple states, including Haryana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. His modus operandi involved meticulous planning: he would reignite deserted houses during the day and use Google Maps on his mobile phone to digitally mark areas before committing the break-ins at night.
The successful operation was executed by the Ayodhya Nagar Police team under the continuous direction of DCP Zone-02 Shri Vivek Singh, significantly curbing property crimes in the city.
