Srinagar, Dec 1 (UNI) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday conducted simultaneous raids in eight locations in Kashmir Valley as part of its investigation into the Red Fort blast last month that left eleven people dead and several others injured.
NIA said teams raided houses including that of Adeel Ahmad Rather in Kulgam, Muzamil Shakeel Ganai at Koil Pulwama, Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay in Shopian and Amir Rashid at Samboora Pulwama. The NIA said the searches were also carried out in Uttar Pradesh
A spokesperson of NIA said various digital devices and other incriminating materials were seized during the searches conducted at the premises of several accused and suspects in the two states.
A total of eight locations were searched in the districts of Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama and Awantipora of J&K, and one location in Lucknow (U.P).
NIA had earlier, on November 26 and 27 conducted extensive searches at the premises of the prime accused, Muzammil Ganie and Shaheen Saeed, in the Al Falah University complex and other places in Faridabad Haryana).
A huge quantity of cash, foreign currency, gold and other incriminating materials were seized during those searches, and the same are being minutely examined to unravel the conspiracy that culminated in the bombing, the spokesperson said.
Adeel and Muzamil were arrested from Faridabad and Uttar Pradesh BY J&K police prior to the Red Fort blast.
Police said they seized a substantial cache of explosive-making materials from the duo, including more than 350 kilograms of ammonium nitrate. J&K Police later handed over the four to NIA which formally arrested them in the case.
NIA has so far arrested 7 key accused in the case.
“NIA teams are questioning the arrested accused while continuing to pursue various leads in connection with the November 10 blast outside the Red Fort in Delhi,” the spokesperson said. “NIA continues to work closely with various state police forces to track and arrest every member of the terrorist module involved in the bomb attack.”
