ED Raids 12 Locations in Maharashtra in FCRA Violation Probe

New Delhi, Dec 1 (UNI) The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday conducted searches at twelve premises in Maharashtra, including in Mumbai and Nandurbar district. The raids are linked to an investigation into Jamia Ismalia Ishatul Uloom (JIIU), Yemeni citizen Khaled Ibrahim Saleh Al-Khadami, and others.

“The probe is based on an FIR and a Charge Sheet filed by the Akkalkuwa Police Station. The case gained traction after the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) cancelled the FCRA registration of the JIIU trust on July 15, 2024. The MHA order stated the trust was involved in channeling foreign funds to NGOs not registered under the FCRA,” said the Ear official.

The ED’s money laundering investigation is now examining the financial trails and alleged proceeds of crime from these activities.
