Bhopal: The All India Congress Committee’s Scheduled Caste Department has announced its new state executive for Madhya Pradesh, appointing a total of 106 office-bearers. The list, issued by national president Rajendra Pal Gautam, is aimed at strengthening the party’s engagement with Dalit communities and enhancing organisational reach across the state.

According to the released structure, the executive includes 23 vice-presidents, 30 general secretaries, 44 secretaries and nine state executive members. Additional roles have also been allocated to ensure representation from all divisions and districts.

Pradeep Ahirwar, president of the MP Congress SC Department, said the executive was formed keeping in mind the state’s geographical and social diversity. “Our focus is to strengthen the organisation and communicate Congress’s ideology more effectively among the people,” he said. Ahirwar added that the department will continue raising issues of atrocities, discrimination and governmental neglect faced by Dalits under the BJP government.

He emphasised that the department will work in line with the social justice vision of Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and the Congress leadership. Its priorities will include expanding organisational networks, promoting awareness, education and safeguarding rights within the Dalit community. Notably, nine women have been included in the new team.

With the revamped executive, the party expects a more assertive and strategic approach to highlighting Dalit issues. The 106-member body is seen as a significant step towards energising the Congress SC Department and amplifying Dalit concerns in the state’s political landscape.
