Intellectually disabled students master Origami at Regional Museum

Bhopal: The Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH) hosted a delightful Origami Workshop and Competition on Friday, providing a platform for intellectually disabled students to explore their creativity and the diversity of the animal kingdom.

Twenty students from the Miriam School for the Mentally Handicapped and Umang Gauravdeep Welfare Society participated in the event. The workshop aimed to enhance the students’ imagination and creative skills.

Under the guidance of Origami expert Vinay Sapre (Retd. Senior Instructor, Jawahar Bal Bhavan), the participants learned to fold paper into various creatures, successfully crafting models of ducks and cranes (Saras).

The competition winners were: Roli Minj (Miriam School) in First Place, Atharva Mohite (Umang Gauravdeep Welfare Society) securing Second, and Nitisha Kujur (Miriam School) taking Third. All participants received certificates, making the event a vibrant success in fostering skill development and engagement with nature.
