BLO Jakir Hossain dies of heart attack in West Bengal

Kolkata, Nov 28 (UNI) A Block Level Officer (BLO), identified as Jakir Hossain of Khargram in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district, has died following cardiac arrest due to work pressure of SIR for digitisation, official sources said today.

Family sources said Jakir Hossain, a teacher of Digha Primary school in Murshidabad, who was the BLO of Booth No. 14 of Khargram, suffered a heart attack while uploading the SIR forms last night. He was rushed to the nearby health facility but died on the way.

Deceased’s son, Ismadul Hossain, said his father was complaining about the work pressure for the past three weeks and was facing problems uploading the filled SIR forms, which he used to do during the night.

In a separate case, a BLO, Basudeb Pramanik, of Magrahat block in Diamond Harbour of South 24 Parganas, fell sick while distributing SIR forms on Thursday evening. He was admitted to the Diamond Harbour Hospital.
