- Demand public execution for accused
Bhopal: Adding a powerful voice to the outcry against the Goharganj rape case, Mufti Mohammad Ahmad Khan Sahab, President of the Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, Madhya Pradesh, issued a fierce condemnation, demanding the harshest penalty for the accused.
Mufti Khan Sahab stated unequivocally that the perpetrator, Salman, “should be hanged at the crossroads.” He emphasized the organization’s moral stance, declaring, “We Muslims do not stand with oppressors; we stand with the oppressed.” The Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has pledged to cover all expenses related to the six-year-old victim’s recovery and care.
Addressing the subsequent civil unrest, the President strongly criticized the elements responsible for escalating the violence, including the stone-pelting incidents directed at the mosque and police. He demanded strict action against those attackers, asserting that some individuals seek to incite riots merely “to get highlighted.” Mufti Khan Sahib concluded by commending the police and members of both the Hindu and Muslim communities who worked together to maintain peace amidst the high tension.
