Indian, Moroccan Navies chart new course for deeper maritime cooperation

New Delhi, Nov 25 (UNI) The Indian Navy and the Royal Moroccan Navy today explored new avenues to deepen their maritime cooperation, focusing on enhanced training exchanges, stronger information-sharing frameworks and broader collaboration on maritime security, according to the Navy spokesperson.

Rear Admiral Mohamed Tahin, Inspector of the Royal Moroccan Navy, is currently on an official visit to India. He commenced his engagements with a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the South Block Lawns in New Delhi, where he was welcomed by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi. The two leaders later held comprehensive discussions on expanding bilateral naval ties.

The three-day visit, which will culminate on 27 Nov, aims at strengthening maritime cooperation and enhancing bilateral naval engagements. The visit underscores the growing maritime partnership between the two countries and reflects shared interests in maritime domain.

The visiting dignitary also laid wreath at the National War Memorial. The visit also includes engagement at key maritime establishments such as Information Fusion Centre – Indian Ocean Region (IFC – IOR), Weapon and Electronic System and Engineering Establishment (WESEE) as well as training establishments of Indian Navy’s Southern Naval Command at Kochi.
