There will be peace in world if Lord Buddha’s teachings are followed : Kiren Rijiju

New Delhi, Nov 25 (UNI) Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Tuesday Lord Buddha’s teachings are very relevant and if the world follows the teachings, there will be peace and harmony in the world.
The Minister who went to Bhutan on Monday leading the “Delegation for the Return of Sacred Relics of Lord Buddha,” told UNI that If people accept Lord Buddah’s message, entire world will be benefitted. ‘’It is not important only to listen to Buddha’s message but abide by it,’’ he said.
He said If the world follows Buddha’s message, there won’t be any problem. There will be peace all over.
He said he had personally seen the King, the royal family, the Prime Minister and his cabinet and government officials paying their respects to the relics. People of Bhutan are very thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing the relics to Bhutan.
‘’It is a great moment and shows in a way the spiritual link between India and Bhutan,’’ Rijiju said.
Asked whether the relics would be sent to other nations as well, he said India’s situation is different from other countries. India is the birthplace of Buddhism. Therefore, when Buddhist relics from India are sent to any other place, that has its own significance.
People of Bhutan had the darshan of the Holy relics in such large. Bhutan King himself attended the departure ceremony.
The relics, enshrined at the National Museum in New Delhi, were sent to Bhutan for exhibition from November 8 to 18. The relics were kept there for another seven days highlighting the spiritual connect between the two countries.
