Bhopal: A delegation of government employees on Tuesday submitted memoranda to Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla and Personnel Secretary M. Selvendran, demanding strict action against IAS officer Santosh Verma for allegedly making highly objectionable and derogatory remarks about daughters of the upper-caste community during the Ajak Association’s State Convention held on 23 November.

Led by Ministry Services Officers and Employees Association president Engineer Sudhir Nayak, the delegation said the comments made by the newly elected State president of the Ajak organisation had deeply hurt public sentiment and violated established norms of administrative conduct. Former senior employee leader Anil Tiwari was also present during the submission.

A large number ofdgj officers and employees from the General Category working in the Ministry attended the protest, including notable office-bearers Ashish Soni, Dayanand Upadhyay, Satish Sharma, and Shyam Bihari SAPAKS secretary Amresh Galar, along with many women employees, also joined the demonstration.

Deputy Chief Minister Shukla stepped out of his chamber to receive the memorandum and assured the delegation of appropriate action. Later, another memorandum was handed over to Personnel Secretary Selvendran, seeking proceedings against Verma under the All India Services Conduct Rules.

Representatives from various employee unions, including M.L. Sharma and Santosh Dixit from the Clerical Association, Vijay Raghuvanshi and Umashankar Tiwari from the Class III Employees’ Union, and Ashok Pandey from the Employees’ Forum, expressed solidarity.
