- Revenue soars to Rs 75.82 crore
Bhopal: West Central Railway (WCR) has reported a massive surge in revenue from ticket checking, collecting a total of Rs 75.82 crore in fines and fares over the first seven months (April-October 2025) of the current financial year.
This aggressive drive, orchestrated across all three divisions, resulted in over 11 lakh cases being registered against passengers traveling without a proper ticket, with irregular tickets, or carrying unbooked luggage. The current collection marks a significant 12.42% increase compared to the Rs 67.44 crore recovered during the same period last year.
The Bhopal Division spearheaded this effort, alone contributing Rs 23.29 crore from 3.63 lakh cases.
WCR administration has appealed to all passengers to purchase proper tickets before boarding to ensure a comfortable journey and avoid inconvenience. The coordinated ticket checking campaigns, involving both the Commercial Department and RPF, are set to continue across trains and stations to ensure safer travel for all.
