Bhopal: In a major move to accommodate surging passenger demand, the Railway Board has sanctioned a permanent doubling of coaches for the popular Indore-Nagpur Vande Bharat Express (20911/20912), which operates via Bhopal.
Currently running with an 8-coach configuration, the train will be permanently upgraded to a 16-coach rake starting from November 24, 2025. This significant enhancement aims to provide substantially increased seating capacity and greater convenience for travellers on this key route.
The Vande Bharat Express is highly favoured for its speed, modern amenities, and punctual service. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Katariya stated that the expansion is a crucial step toward a better travel experience.
“This permanent increase will make travel significantly easier and more comfortable, especially during holidays and peak seasons,” he noted. The decision is expected to boost the chances of passengers securing confirmed seats, reflecting the West Central Railway’s commitment to ensuring safe, smooth, and comfortable journeys while efficiently managing growing traffic demand.
