Nurpur (Kàngra), Nov 22 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party held a high-level organizational meeting in Nurpur town of Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, on Friday to prepare for the December 4 protest in Dharamshala.
The meeting was presided over by BJP State President Dr. Rajiv Bindal, who conducted an intensive review of party affairs and finalized strategic preparations for the upcoming demonstration. The leadership called for maximum mobilization, accusing the Congress government of pursuing policies that have brought widespread hardship to the people of Himachal Pradesh.
The meeting reviewed key organizational matters in detail and finalized several decisions regarding the party’s future strategy.
The primary agenda was preparation for the BJP’s massive protest scheduled in Dharamshala on December 4, which will be held against what the party describes as the Congress government’s anti-people policies. Leaders emphasized the need to mobilize maximum participation from workers across the assembly constituency.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bindal questioned the Congress government’s decision to celebrate its three-year tenure, stating that people in Himachal Pradesh “fail to understand what achievements are being showcased.” He alleged that during this period, the government has caused hardship for various sections of society, including youth, women, the unemployed, farmers, and members of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
He further claimed that the Congress administration has not introduced a single public welfare scheme offering genuine relief, adding that employees, pensioners, and ex-servicemen are also facing serious issues under its rule.
Senior BJP leaders shared their views and offered suggestions aimed at further strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
Present at the meeting were former Assembly Speaker and Sulh MLA Vipin Singh Parmar, MP Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj, former minister Rakesh Pathania, BJP Vice President Bihari Sharma, along with senior leaders, office bearers, and workers of the Nurpur District BJP.
