Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 21 (UNI) Ethical, inclusive, and trustworthy deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) must define India’s AI future, Kerala Chief Secretary Dr. A. Jayathilak has said.
He said India’s AI mission was not merely about accelerating adoption but about developing a national framework rooted in ethics, inclusion, and security.
Highlighting Kerala’s leadership in digital governance, he expressed confidence that the state could once again set an example by demonstrating trustworthy AI in action.
Calling AI a powerful yet dual-edged tool, Dr. Jayathilak noted that while it empowers, it also demands responsibility. He urged close collaboration among government, industry, academia, and civil society to collectively shape the global moral compass for emerging technologies.
In one of the significant announcements, he said Kerala aims to make AI literacy as common as digital literacy across the state. “Our ultimate goal should be to program machines to amplify the best of humanity, empathy, creativity, and collective intelligence,” he added.
Reaffirming the state government’s commitment, the Chief Secretary said Kerala would continue to work with stakeholders to build a future where technology enhances people, prosperity, and the planet.
He said this while inaugurating the pre-summit conference organised by the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and the ISACA Thiruvananthapuram Chapter, yesterday. He also underscored the importance of Safe and Trusted AI, especially in critical sectors such as fintech, healthcare, and citizen safety.
The conference was part of the preparations for the India–AI Impact Summit 2026, to be held in New Delhi on February 19–20. Announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the France AI Action Summit, it will be the first global AI summit hosted in the Global South.
