Narsinghpur: A solemn tribute ceremony was held in Narsinghpur on Thursday to mark the 94th birth anniversary of former Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister, the late Colonel Ajay Narayan Musharan. Senior leaders, public representatives and a large number of Congress workers gathered to honour the revered statesman, offering floral tributes and recalling his exemplary public life.
Among those present were State Congress in-charge Harish Chaudhary, MPCC President Jitu Patwari, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, former Union Minister Arun Yadav, Rajya Sabha MPs Vivek Tankha and Ashok Singh, CWC member Kamleshwar Patel, former Leader of Opposition Dr Govind Singh, former Assembly Speaker N.P. Prajapati, former Deputy Speaker Rajendra Singh, and several former ministers including Jayvardhan Singh, Sajjan Singh Verma, Sukhdev Panse, Vijaylaxmi Sadho, Lakhans Ghanghoria, P.C. Sharma, Tarun Bhanot and Omkar Markam.
A host of senior leaders, MLAs Arif Masood and Rajneesh Singh, former MLAs Sanjay Sharma, Sanjay Yadav, Vipin Wankhede, Sunil Jaiswal, District Congress President Sunita Patel and Youth Congress President Yash Ghanghoria were also in attendance.
Speakers fondly remembered Musharan’s integrity, simplicity and unwavering commitment to public service, describing him as a symbol of clean politics whose values continue to inspire future generations.
On this occasion, leaders also participated in the bhoomipujan ceremony for the new District Congress office in Narsinghpur. They said the upcoming office would serve as an active centre for organisational strengthening, public outreach and the protection of democratic values.
Later, party leaders joined the funeral procession of Inspector Ashish Sharma of the Madhya Pradesh Hawk Force, who was martyred during an anti-Naxal operation. Paying respects, they hailed his supreme sacrifice as an enduring example of courage and duty. The Congress extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and assured full support during this difficult time.
