Delhi CM reviews areas along Najafgarh drain, orders action

New Delhi, Nov 19 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister on Wednesday conducted ground inspections of areas along the Sahibi river (Najafgarh drain) and interacted with locals, taking note of problems faced by them.

She instructed officials to improve the situation on waterlogging, cleanliness, and street lights, which play an important role in safety and security of people.

She directed officials to build a strong wall along the road next to the Sahibi (Najafgarh drain) that will prevent water from spreading and reaching the carriageway.

Taking to X, CM shared that at some places, when water reaches the road, it damages the same. She also instructed officials to take steps towards dust mitigation.

The CM has stated that her government’s style of working is to reach out to the public, take note of their issues, and then ensure solutions.

“This is the new work culture of Delhi, where the safety, convenience, and dignity of every family is our top priority,” Gupta said.
The CM said the government is working on a war footing to control pollution and ensure cleanliness and sanitation across the national Capital.

She said her administration was prioritizing area-wise requirements of the residents. “Our government’s resolve is to have a Viksit Delhi, Green Delhi, and Clean Delhi, and work is underway in this direction,” she said.

Meanwhile, MP Praveen Khandelwal, who was present on the occasion during the CM’s inspection in the Shakur Basti assembly constituency, said that important development projects worth Rs 500 crore have been approved for the areas. “The decision will bring relief to the residents by resolving long-pending issues,” he added.
