- Patel unveils the statue of the revolutionary Birsa Munda in Banka, Satna
Bhopal: Governor Mangubhai Patel said that Lord Birsa Munda is a symbol of tribal pride and glory. He was a shining example of tribal identity and patriotism. At the age of just 25, he fought against the British government for the rights of the tribal community. Through his struggle and sacrifice, he forced the most powerful force in the world to surrender. He has become immortal in history as a great man. Governor Patel was addressing the Lord Birsa Munda statue unveiling ceremony and tribal development conference in Banka village of Majhgawan development block in Satna district on Tuesday.
Patel said that our people’s leaders have done great work to protect the rights and privileges of the tribal community. We should take inspiration from them and strive to advance society. The Central Government has allocated Rs 24,000 crore under the Janman Yojana. Similarly, Rs 80,000 crore has been allocated under the Dharti Aabi Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan. Governor stated that special efforts are also being made for tribal welfare in tribal areas through the Adi Karmayogi Yojana.
Birsa Munda is a symbol of self-respect: Uikey
Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uikey stated that the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda is being celebrated as a festival in the country. Birsa Munda is a symbol of self-respect, cultural unity, and pride. State Minister for Urban Development and Housing, Pratima Bagri, said that the Central and State governments are committed to the welfare of the tribal community. She provided detailed information about the welfare schemes.
At the beginning of the program, Governor Patel planted a sapling at the statue site. He unveiled the statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. He visited an exhibition on tribal heroes and their pride. Public representatives, Deendayal Research Institute officials, senior officials, and a large number of tribal community representatives were present on the occasion.
