Bhopal: The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS), crucial for the commercial operation of the Bhopal Metro, is expected to submit its report to the Metro Corporation this week. Once everything is deemed “OK,” the report will be submitted to the state government.
The CMRS arrived in Bhopal on November 12th. Over the next three days, November 13th, 14th, and 15th, the team inspected everything from the depot to the tracks and trains. Accompanied by Commissioner Nilabhra Sengupta, the team inspected every detail of the Metro’s operations. Afterward, the team returned. The report is now awaited.
Metro officials say that all necessary work for the Metro’s commercial operation has been completed and meets CMRS standards. While some work remains at the stations, it will not impact commercial operations. Therefore, it is expected that the CMRS report will be “OK.”
Once CMRS approves, it will submit its report to the Metro Corporation. Metro officials will then submit this report to the government, stating that they are ready for commercial operation.
The state government will request the Prime Minister to inaugurate the Metro. Therefore, a date will be sought from the Prime Minister’s Office. Commercial operation will begin as soon as the date is finalized.
