- Confession of arrested counterfeiter
Bhopal: Following the arrest of Vivek Yadav for circulating counterfeit currency in the capital, police interrogation has revealed his meticulous strategy to evade capture.
Yadav deliberately operated 30 to 40 kilometers outside of Bhopal to distribute the fake notes. His targets were small establishments, including kirana stores, paan shops, and tea stalls located on the city’s outskirts. To avoid suspicion, he would only spend three to four fake notes per day according to a pre-planned daily routine.
The accused confessed to circulating the currency in numerous areas, including Raisen Road, 11 Mile, Berasia Road’s Intkhedi, Parwalia Road, Airport Road, Gandhi Nagar, Piplani, and Avadhpuri. He also admitted to passing notes in neighboring districts.
A search of Yadav’s home yielded 428 counterfeit notes of Rs 500 denomination and raw material worth over RS 30 lakhs used for printing the fake currency. Police continue to investigate the extent of his operation.
