- Crime revealed when victim became pregnant
Bhopal: A 14-year-old girl living in the Bagh Sewania police station area was raped by her brother-in-law. The incident took place in the victim’s home. When the girl’s health deteriorated, her father took her to the hospital, where she was confirmed to be pregnant.
The doctors then informed the police. Police arrived at the hospital and registered a rape FIR based on the victim’s statements. The accused has been taken into custody.
According to the police, the 14-year-old girl lives in a slum. Her father works as a laborer and her mother is mentally unstable. In October, the victim was alone at home when her brother-in-law arrived. Seeing her alone, he threatened her and raped her. He threatened to kill her if she told anyone. Due to fear of the accused, she did not inform anyone about the incident. On Saturday, the victim began experiencing stomach pain and vomiting, and her father took her to the hospital.
During a checkup, her pregnancy was confirmed, which was immediately reported to the police. The police counseled the victim and recorded her statement. The teenager revealed all the misdeeds of the accused. A case of rape has been registered against the accused brother-in-law under sections of the POCSO Act.
