Goan films ‘Claudia’ and ‘Pilot’ to feature at 56th IFFI 2025

Goa, Nov 16 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday said two Goan films, ‘Claudia’ and ‘Pilot’, will be screened at the upcoming 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), scheduled to take place from November 20 to 28, 2025.

IFFI 2025 will feature over 240 films from 81 countries, including 13 world premieres, four international premieres, and 46 Asian premieres. Organisers revealed that the festival received a record 2,314 film submissions from 127 countries.

The theme for this year’s festival is innovation, creativity, and technology, with Japan as the focus country. Speaking at a press conference in Goa, Sawant highlighted the festival’s schedule, special events, and extensive film lineup, while emphasizing the state’s preparations for an exciting edition of IFFI.

Sawant said the state is gearing up for an exciting edition of IFFI, emphasising that the organising team is prioritising “innovation, creativity, and technology” for the 2025 festival.

“We are celebrating the film festival from November 20 to 28 under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, NFDC, and the Government of Goa. The 56th edition will have screening venues across multiple locations, including open-air venues. This year’s theme is innovation, creativity, and technology, with Japan as the focus country. Additionally, two Goan films, Claudia and Pilot, will be screened during the festival,” Sawant told reporters.

The event will conclude with a special ceremony celebrating Rajinikanth’s 50-year legacy in Indian cinema.
