Ajay Devgn’s ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ scores Rs 9.45 cr on opening day

New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) The romantic comedy ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ opened in theatres on November 14 with a slow start in its morning and afternoon shows, but saw a notable uptick in audience turnout by the evening.

Despite the improvement, its opening-day earnings were slightly lower than those of the first film.

Starring Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, and R. Madhavan, the sequel benefitted from stronger footfall at multiplexes, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who noted that the film’s weekend growth will be key to its overall performance.

As per Adarsh’s figures, ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ collected Rs 9.45 crore on Day 1—just below the opening figures of the 2019 film, which made Rs 10.41 crore including previews.

In his post on X, Adarsh wrote, “After a low start in the morning and noon shows, ‘DeDePyaarDe2’ picked up significantly from the evening shows onward… Multiplexes have responded favourably, setting the stage for crucial growth on Saturday and Sunday.”

The weekend is expected to play a decisive role, with Saturday and Sunday numbers likely determining the film’s trajectory for its first week.

Directed by Anshul Sharma, the film also features Meezan and Jaaved Jaaferi in important supporting roles.
