Bhopal: A significant meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Scheduled Caste Department was held at the Pradesh Congress Office on Friday in the presence of Bhagwati Prasad Chaudhary, the newly appointed national in-charge of the department by the All India Congress Committee. This marked Chaudhary’s first visit, during which he was warmly welcomed by departmental office-bearers.
The meeting focused on the role, importance and active participation of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities within the party structure. Addressing the gathering, Chaudhary expressed concern over the injustice and neglect faced by these communities. He said the party was currently passing through a phase of “struggle and challenge”, stressing the need for unity and organisational strength. “We must come together and fight for our rights with full determination,” he added.
Pradeep Ahirwar, President of the MP Congress SC Department, reviewed ongoing organisational activities and urged all members to work collectively to strengthen the party. He emphasised the importance of preparing early for the upcoming Assembly elections, noting that the Scheduled Caste community forms a crucial pillar of the party’s organisational and political strength. “Despite difficult circumstances, we must lead the fight for public rights,” he stated.
Senior Congress leaders including Dr Mahendra Singh Chauhan, former Mayor Deepchand Yadav, Hemant Narwaria, Vikram Chaudhary, Ravi Verma and Hirdeś Kirar shared their suggestions and pledged to work unitedly for organisational expansion.
Chaudhary assured all members that the Congress remains committed to ensuring the rights, dignity and representation of the Scheduled Caste community, and that every worker would receive due respect within the organisation.
