Bhopal: Tribal Pride Day, marking the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at BHEL, Bhopal on Friday. The event was graced by Pradeep Kumar Upadhyay, General Manager and Unit Head, BHEL Bhopal, who attended as the Chief Guest. T.U. Singh, General Manager (HR), was also present, along with Arif Ahmed Siddiqui, Additional General Manager (HR); Manish Thakur, Liaison Officer for BHEL Scheduled Tribe Employees; and a large gathering of employees and township residents.
To mark the occasion, a spirited foot rally was organised by tribal employees and their families. The rally was flagged off by Upadhyay from the BHEL Sports Club. Addressing the gathering, he described BHEL as a “mini-India” where people from diverse communities work in harmony. He urged employees to draw inspiration from the life and values of Birsa Munda and praised the commitment of tribal employees at the unit.
Earlier, Singh highlighted the cultural and historical significance of Tribal Pride Day and paid homage to Lord Birsa Munda’s enduring legacy. He noted that the annual celebrations, featuring traditional dances and attire, reflect the pride and heritage of tribal communities, underscoring that a person’s actions are their true legacy.
The foot rally proceeded from the Sports Club to the BHEL Narmada Guest House, where participants garlanded the portrait of Lord Birsa Munda.
