New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) The Delhi government has launched an extensive cleanliness campaign across the city, with all the cabinet ministers and MLAs participating in the initiative.
In a statement issued here today, Office of the Delhi Development Minister stated that Development Minister Kapil Mishra commenced the cleanliness drive in North-East Delhi’s Ghonda Chowk, here today.
As part of the campaign, special cleaning operations and monitoring instructions have been issued to officials for the identified hotspots in the area. Ghonda MLA Ajay Mahawar, local municipal councillor, and district administration officials were also present. The Minister, along with the local teams, inspected the cleanliness arrangements in the area and issued necessary directions.
During the programme, Mishra said that from today, the entire cabinet and all MLAs are launching a comprehensive cleanliness campaign in every ward of Delhi. “Areas with severe garbage issues will receive special cleaning and continuous monitoring,” he said.
He said he has been given the responsibility for North-East Delhi and the trans-Yamuna regions.
“The administration has identified 37 hotspots in the area. We will visit these places daily to review the cleanliness status and ensure that the campaign progresses consistently and effectively. Daily morning monitoring of these garbage hotspots will be done, and corrective measures will be taken,” he added.
He stated that previous governments neglected several issues related to roads, traffic lights, and sanitation for years. “But now, all ministers and MLAs will inspect various areas daily and receive morning reports on cleanliness progress. With the cooperation of the municipal corporation, district administration, and local representatives, this campaign is a crucial step towards making Delhi clean and safe.”
Speaking about the recently concluded Bihar Assembly elections, Mishra said the victory represented the success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies and his direct connect with the people. “Those who spread falsehoods against the country and the armed forces, and try to divide society, are repeatedly given a clear message by the public,” he said.
On security arrangements, he said that security agencies remain vigilant. “Terrorist elements may attempt anything out of frustration, but they can neither intimidate Delhi nor affect the nation’s security.”
